Benjamin, Week 1

When I was growing up, a roll of 24 photographs could span a time period of 5 months. Today, 24 digital photos can document 5 minutes. We have so many photos of Benjamin that it's a little overwhelming to try to post them all. That being said, here is another batch:

A Prayer For Benjamin

April 10, 2011

I don't typically offer very memorable prayers, let alone prayers that I want to share with others. Though sincere, they are usually fairly boring and generally the same from day to day. However, early in Beth's pregnancy with Benjamin, I prayed a prayer more akin to a poem. I started out wanting to ask that he would develop properly and be a normal healthy baby. Then I switched gears realizing that there are more important concerns than simple physical well being.

"Dear Lord,

"I ask that you would be with Benjamin. Help him to be healthy, grow strong, and develop his five senses.

"Give him eyes that will see you in your creation
Give him ears that will listen to your word
Give him hands that will feel your presence
Give him a nose that will breathe deep of your spirit
Give him a tongue that will tell of your wondrous love

"Amen."
