Dear Family and Friends,

Beth and I are happy to officially announce the arrival of Benjamin David Morris. After a 9 hour labor in the hospital he was born on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 11:35 in the morning. He weighed 7 lb 5 oz and was 19.5 inches long. Beth did great! We appreciated all your prayers and support through the pregnancy and are eagerly looking forward to our new position as parents. Attached are a couple photos. 

He who fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for his children it will be a refuge. (Proverbs 14:26)

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! (2 Corinthians 9:15)

The waiting game!

Well, it's March 14th. The day I felt like would never come! So here I am sitting on my birthing ball at the coffee table, bouncing and writing a blog post. Hoping that just maybe it will bring on a contraction. Well, either way "delivery day" did come... and baby could still come today too. I think that it will be this week if not today... I have been feeling a lot more relaxed about the whole labor part than before. I think that I am just ready to do whatever it takes to get him out and into my arms. :-) I can't wait to meet this little guy. Today has been a good day, for the most part. (When I haven't been thinking about going into labor). Now it's just going to be a matter of keeping busy so that I don't dwell on whether or not that was a contraction...? Ha ha! It shouldn't be hard to keep busy but I like to be lazy. That will change very soon. :-)

One more week!

So I'm down to my last week. Finally! :) Well, I guess there is always the chance of going a little longer than my due date but I'm really hoping (praying!!) for going a little early... As long as the baby would be fine that would be fine with me. This is definitely getting to be the most exhausting thing. I feel like I have expanded to my maximum capacity. How on earth could I get any bigger? Ha ha! I'm so thankful that everything is ready for this little guy. The nursery is all organized, we have everything we need to start out. :-) It's really a blessing. Jon is so wonderful! He put a bunch of relaxing music on my ipod this afternoon. Hopefully it will come in handy (if needed/wanted) during labor. Like I said I want to do it naturally and I know there are so many relaxation techniques that can be used, music being one of them. We'll see! Thats all for now... not much more to say.

"For you created my immost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. Nursery

"Nesting"

My urge to clean and organize has been on full speed lately. Of course it comes in spurts but when it comes I am unstoppable! For a while I had been planning on taking some things to the thrift store. I had a bag of clothes sitting in my closet for at least a month or two! A dress form which I searched and searched for last summer (and found at a yard sale for $20!). I just didn't use it anymore. Mainly because I never had any luck with making clothes. I guess I will stick to quilts. :) Then there was an old pair of Jon's roller blades (I don't know if he ever used them!) and some old mugs that just sat on the top shelf of the cupboard. Now we we have more room for baby dishes! :) The baby's room is finally ready! :) I think I might be able to post some pictures of it now. I feel organized and ready to have him. 13 days! We have a Dr. appointment tonight...I'm hoping that there will be some good news like maybe he'll show up sooner rather than later? I know, there is no way of knowing for sure!
